Nashville Black Literacy Coalition

The Nashville Black Literacy Coalition (NBLC) is an independent organization dedicated to improving literacy within Nashville's Black community. Their mission is to support and uplift the Black community through culturally relevant educational initiatives that address the unique challenges Black individuals face. By fostering partnerships, advocating for educational equity, and engaging with the community, NBLC aims to eliminate barriers to literacy and promote lifelong learning and informed citizenship.

Founding members of the NBLC, Tiffeni Fontno, Eno Richardson, and Ashford Hughes met during TPP’s Convening on Black Education in March 2024 and began organizing. TPP is proud to partner with this organization to advance a “literary revolution in Nashville’s Black community.” Their first event , “Well Read: The Silent Reading Experience,” will happen on 10/24/24.
