The Possibilities Project is an “Arts-Informed Knowledge Hub”. In other words, our work is motivated by the visionary expression, imagination, and flexible thinking the creative arts afford. Foundational to this work is the exchange and dissemination of innovative Black Education solutions, and cutting-edge new insights generated from TPP’s original research. Ultimately, we are a convening space organized to both produce new knowledge and amplify the important work of stakeholders in education practice, policy, and research.
TPP’s Research Agenda Aims To:
Examine “transformational” education policy and practice initiatives/approaches intended to actively subvert existing K-12 education structures that (re)produce harm for Black youth
Describe education stakeholders’ conceptions of “possibility” in the work they do to produce and/or sustain transformational Black education outcomes
Discern how conceptions of possibility facilitate realization of education stakeholders’ broader visions of Black freedom in and beyond the schoolhouse.
